Make sure they know where to lift it from. You'd think it would be obvious, but I have heard stories.

Hello first poster here. I made this back when I had a 11 lr4 lux and a 08 rr hse. I sell tires and can offer advice. I ran Pirelli ATRs on my full size and Toyo AT2s with my lr4 but with 20" wheels. Toyo also has a 19"ht for the 255/55. I'm at work so couldn't read all the responses but I would be happy to help if you had a question. But you might hate me since I traded the LR4 for a Summit Jeep GC. One of my dists does have some new nitto 421Q tires available. They look promising for street use, My brother ran some cooper ltz and I have the at3 on my jeep. The LTZ looks good and rode pretty well but he ended up swapping them for some Pirelli ATRs. They are quieter. Anyways I'm new, Hope I didn't break any rules.

I replaced my original Contis with Toyo Open Country and have been very pleased with performance under a variety of conditions.

Hey Adam, Welcome to the forums. I for one don't mind you chiming in at all. I can't speak for everyone, but I love Jeeps. I see no reason why LR owners wouldn't get along really well with Jeep owners.

I think it is pretty tricky to shop for tires for these vehicles, since we ask a lot of them. We all want slightly different things and are willing to put up with different types of compromise.

The one that is really important to me is snow/ice handling. A lot of the A/T tires mentioned are fantastic in road/offroad situations, but many are pretty poor in snow/ice and even just wet roads.

I dont have them mounted yet, but based on lots of research and I like the way they look, I went with 265/65R18 GY Wrangler Silent Armor.

Tires

I replaced the Conties at about 80,000Km with Michelin Latitude Tour HP.
Really like them much better than the Conties.
I use the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5's for winter and they are a great winter tire, but a little loud on the highway.
Current mileage is around 106000KM.

Adam,

What is your opinion on the Bridgesotne Dueler Alenza in 255 55 19 size? Mostly highway use....some light trail riding.
