I got the battery in the mail yesterday and followed your directions tonight. As soon as i had the battery soldered in, i couldn't resist testing the buttons and it worked! It's nice to consider that I just saved close to $300 (which now goes toward tires).

For anyone else that's going to do this, I would recommend using a vise when cutting it open. It makes it much easier to apply the right amount of pressure to cut at the right depth.

One of my keys is acting up, the other key (that we never used) works fine.

The doors wouldn't lock with our remote. Then it would work...then it wouldn't.

The started using the other key and no problem so it has to be the battery.
