Ok, I have an 06 lr3 hse, 4.4. suspension and brake lights come on when I
Start the car and then turn the steering wheel in either direction, I am a Cadillac mechanic and don't have access to a scanner, but I am suspecting the steering position sensor. I have just replaced the brake light switch and tail lamp bulbs in efforts to fix the trans becUse it won't shift into third automatically. Has anyone seen this issue before? Thanks

I've had issues with the steering sensors before, causing suspension faults...but it wasn't so consistent that I could make it appear with steering wheel input.

That might happen if your front wheels are of different circumference (for example if you mounted a brand new spare tire in front with a well-worn running wheel on the other side, or a compact spare with an oversized tire/wheel combo at the other end of the front axle.) Transmission detects the mismatched revolutions of left and right front wheels, assumes you are negotiating a turn and doesn't automatically upshift past 2nd or 3rd gear. Are your front wheels and tires the same size and about evenly worn? Have you checked pressure of both to make sure they match?
