ok i think i figured out the fuel thing opnions

ok well i removed the carpet from the rear and checked the voltage on the wires none of them registered more than 1 volt so i am assuming it is the relay.
this is a 96 D1 does anyone have a pic of where it is located under the hood? I would like to pull it and test it seperatly and get a new onw... its cheaper than a new fuel pump.

Question, did you check voltage as soon as the key was turned, or did you wait a few? the relay is designed to turn off the pump if the engine is not running....

i check it as long as it took me to walk to the back. Good point i'll check it again tonight

checked again while someone was turning on and off the key no volts. So where is this relay?

Fuel pump relay
The fuel pump relay is fed from the ignition relay and controlled by the engine management ECM. The relay is activated in ignition key position 2 to prime the fuel system for a period of time controlled by the ECM. Failure of this relay will result in no fuel pressure.

Here are the two locations the relay can be located.

joey your the man i spoke to someone at one of the big name riover parts places and they said it was a multi- function relay it was like 80 talked to rovers north and they gave me the correct realy at 18 bucks.. you the man

Hey Joey,
I got the relay removed the kick panel but i dont see the relay you show in the pic.There are the three in the bottom row and there is one up above them.Is this the relay?

Sorr for the delay in the post. for some reason I wasn't able to access this site for the last three days while travelling....

I would call you land rover service center and just ask.... not sure which one it is.... I pulled that info out of the Rave CD....
