I looked seriously at a Defender and the last straw was $500 per month insurance for my area (Las Vegas). I haven't had any tickets at all for 10 years and no accidents in 30 years. Pretty insane prices. I've paid at most $110 per month with massive over-coverage on my Corvettes. Some common insurance companies like Progressive wouldn't insure Land Rovers at all, so that was surprising.

Ryan - As a newbie I was very grateful for your help, guidance and mentorship with suspension woes; I always look forward to seeing the image of the dog and the wisdom that follows - A huge thank you as always and good luck with your next vehicle whatever it may be...

@ryanjl take care, and best of luck with the Land Cruiser. Your “incredibly unhelpfulness” has served this forum, myself included, in ways that no other could’ve. You will be missed, enjoy your new chapter.

Also if you get bored of the reliability of the Land Cruiser feel free to revisit and solve some of our problems!

Take care!

Had to create a new "for sale" thread as the old one was getting disorganized and the initial post was too old for me to edit.

I keep finding more and more stuff that I bought and never installed. Guess I was a Land Rover "prepper" or something.

Not to keep pimping my for sale thread, but I just found some more stuff. Center air suspension valve block, rear tailgate actuator and moisture shield, rear brake pads.

All prices are negotiable (within reason).

I haven't been back on this forum in quite a while. Signed in today to see what all was going on. Miss my LR4. Wanted to say "hi."

I wound up getting a Land Cruiser 1958 Edition in late June 2024. It was okay, but exceedingly boring, especially after owning an LR4 for almost 9 years. After owning the Land Cruiser for a year and a half, I traded it in this past March on a new Grenadier Trialmaster.

The closest Ineos dealer to me (Kansas City) is almost 7 hours away (Minneapolis), and I bought it from an Ineos dealer that's almost 9 hours away (Colorado Springs). Ineos redid their warranty and roadside assistance program in November 25 to now cover a tow from anywhere in the US to the closest dealer should the vehicle become undriveable for a warranty-related issue. That's what put me over the top.

And I absolutely love this vehicle. Picked it up in March, then went back to Colorado 2 weeks ago for a week of wheeling and mountain biking. Maybe one of my favorite vacations ever.

Oh, and totally not the reason for this post, but I still have some LR4 parts I need to get rid of. Suspension compressor, rear brake rotors, rear brake pads, steering shaft, and maybe some other things I can't remember now. HMU.

Nice rig. Did you get it fully locked? I've read a Motortrend review on them and they like them a lot.

The Land Cruisers and Toyota redesigns look nice, but yeah ball-less and too much tech especially EV features. The LR4 5.0L V8 can take them easily. Now if Grenadier would offer a V8 that would be ****.
