My wife has a 95 Disco 1 with 2" raised suspension. This obviously makes it great for outdoor, however, when going along the highway, and you come across a bit of uneven road, sometimes you get a seriously bad vibration coming through the steering column, very occasionally to the point you feel you may lose control.
I have been through all joints etc. and have been told this is a result of having the raised coils.
Anybody else with raised suspension have the same problems??

Your issues is either:

1 - Steering stabilizer bad

2 - Panhard Rod bushings bad

3 - Swivel preload is out of adjustment.

Tires!!! and as Joey wrote, steering stabilizer.
Tire balance and wear. I had the death wobble in the worst way on my 97 SE7. New tires got rid of the worst of it but a new Bilstein stabilizer really did the trick.
Check allignment too.
