Bad Paint Job

Hey everybody,
I have a 1996 SD Disco and for whatever reason, the original paint on the hood and roof are oxidized! It's far beyond saving even for an experienced auto detailer. I was wondering how many of you had/have this problem. Was this a factory problem for this year of Disco? Any info would be appreciated!

Sorry to hear your issue, I know I haven't seen many older Disco's with major paint issues. I have seen rust problems where the aluminum and steel meet, but not paint problems.

Hey bro I would prep sand it and send it to Macco. All depends what you want to do with it. Trail rig why bother. Good luck

Better make sure the Macco you use is used to painting on two different type metals... remember the body is aluminum and the top is steel.

I have a buddy of mine who is going to paint my truck this weekend.... I´ll be trading some detailing work for the paint job! He´ll just be doing the hood and roof since their is nothing wrong with the body... Some people thought it was a custom paint job because they have never seen a Land Rover with oxidized paint before. They thought it was camouflage.
