Clear coat peeling on mirror

Anyone seen this before?

2012 LR4, Driver’s side mirror has the clear coat peeling off.

Nope.. That's pretty significant- where do you live? Does the Rover live outside or inside at night?

I'd get a good wax on the rest of the car- you don't want that on your hood or roof..

Probably resprayed in the past ... not a good job. You should be able to get it done professionally for not to much.

I live in San Jose, CA. The weather here is moderate, not too hot or cold. The LR does live outside though.

Considering this is the only place on the LR with this problem, I’m inclined to think the mirror was repainted, poorly at that.

I'm a fan of P21S bodywork shampoo followed by their paintwork cleaner and carnuba wax. Paintwork cleaner removes light dirt and minor scratches from winter snow removal brush. Wax lasts for at least 6 months.

you can get mirror caps if you don't want to repaint.
