Electric Oil Pump Control Solenoid on a 2016 3.0l?

I scanned my vehicle today with my Autel today and I came up with an out of range value for "Electric Oil Pump Control - Solenoid Position"

I've looked online, but cant seem to find anything about oil solenoids except for the older 5.0l engines. Even checking land rover parts sites don't come up with anything for a oil solenoid for the 3.0l.
So I'm wondering if its the following:

a) Autel is using the wrong name.
or
b) This is now integrated into the oil pump on the 3.0l engine, which is why there's no mention of it on its own (it has an electric plug of some kind)

I have the same problem! I replaced the oil pump and still the same!!!

Oil pressures are as follows:
Idle 68F (temp) 29psi
1,500 rpm 68F 87psi
3,000 rpm 104F 90psi
3,000 rpm 230F 72psi
3,000 rpm 266F 58psi

Your Autel reading is 100. Which would be 100% duty cycle on the oil pump solenoid, commanded full open.
Rev the engine up and see if that % number drops.
Took me a while to get back to this because I discovered my oil pressure gauge wasn't behaving properly and was sticking at a few points, so I ordered another one and it came in today.

The results I got were:
(Temp was 77F)
Idle @ 77F == 30psi
1500 RPM @77F == 38psi
3000 RPM @ 104F == 46psi
3000 RPM @ 220F == 40psi

Also when I dropped the revs back down to idle it dropped to about 10 PSI and sat there slowly creeping its way back up to about 22 PSI.

I could not get the engine oil any hotter than around 220F... I was only able to hit that by revving to 4K (the limit in park) for quite a while. The oil temp wanted to settle around 210-215 @ 3000 RPM.

Sadly a few weeks ago when I was working on my VW Corrado, I broke the screen on my autel, so I was unable to check what the solenoid was reading at that time. I'll have to either buy a new one or get a replacement screen, so I can read the solenoid value during another test.

So it would seem my oil pressure is quite low compared to where it's spec'd. Unsure if its due to that solenoid or due to another engine problem. The engine otherwise runs well, no rattles or knocks, and it pulls hard and smoothly when running it on the road. I changed the oil again after 1K to inspect the oil and it was clean with no metal flakes or shavings.

So since my last post I went ahead and ordered a new Autel, so I can dig into this more. What I found is that the Solenoid is reading 100.3% until I hit 3900 RPMs, then it jumps to 0. It'll stay at 0 until I drop below about 3700 RPM and then it'll jump back to 100.3%

@Rover Range when you're able (no rush, only when you've got free time), can you let me know if this is the correct trigger point for where it should be opening/closing? I've searched around but I cant find anything. Since I have such low oil pressure below 4K RPM, and I cant really get the car above 4K in park, I wonder if its not closing at the correct point and thus is keeping the oil pressure too low.

Sadly, I don't have a lift at my house to be able to test stationary in drive so I can get above 4k and see what the pressure is there... one of these days... one of these days.

I'd much rather the problem be with the pump than have worn bearings, journals, and such allowing too much oil flow and thus not getting correct pressure.

Where are you checking the oil pressure?
If you have a long enough hose on the guage, you can drive the car and monitor the oil pressure.

100% is the duty cycle that the PCM is commanding the solenoid. So, 100% would be commanded fully open.

If you have a long enough hose on the guage, you can drive the car and monitor the oil pressure.

I bought a new filter cap and tapped it and put a fitting in place for my gauge hose (sadly only 18" long"), so I'm checking at the filter like the tool you linked me before. There's no leaks from the tool, I made sure of that when I was testing the oil pressure.

Is there a specific RPM where the PCM commands the solenoid to close? I get that its open at low RPM, when should it close?

Ok, thanks for the info. If I'm able to get easy access to it at my house without a lift... I guess I can check the voltage on the leads to the solenoid plug and see what I can figure out.
