Are you guys aware that LR has a brake bulletin for the 2010/2011 LR4. I just took my 2010 LR4 to the dealership for a unrelated minor issue. The service manager asked me if I have felt my brakes "pulsating" which to be honest I did not. He took it for a ride and informed me that he did feel a 'slight" vibration. Yadda yadda yadda, the front brakes and rotors were replaced (11,000 miles). I guess the front rotors run out was above the recommended tolerances. Bogus? I am not sure, perhaps I got used to this condition, but I'm glad that my service department was on top of it.

I had them show me the old pads and rotors just for the fun of it. To my surprise, the damn pads were about 9.5 mm thick. Not 100% sure what the new pads thickness is but they look new at 11,000 miles and I pull a 6000# boat and trailer.TSB LSB00402 is the reference number. It was covered 100% by warranty and it was about $1100.00 charged to LR. I decided to pay an obscene $70.00 to have all 4 wheels rebalanced since it was not covered by warranty. But they gave me a brand new 2012 LR4 loaner and what the hell, trying to help their bottom line.

It states if there is a shimmy in the steering wheel or vibration while driving. Is this while driving...or while braking only?

It appears that LR requires TSB 00400 to be performed before 00402. 00400 says that the it should be be completed under the following situations "The steering wheel may exhibit a shimmy / vibration while driving at highway speeds. This may be
evident with or without brake system application.".

If 00400 doesn't fix the problem, then it appears that the dealer does 00402.
