numerous codes after lower control arms installed

i will have to see what the mechanic says. i replaced the rear sway bar links but that was a month before all this happened. no problems until lc arms replaced.

Just go to a tire/front end place and get an alignment. Good to have second eyes on the LCAs install anyhow.

Transmission lines leaking. That was the fluid leak that had developed. Alignment Monday so hopefully that clears some stuff up

Just curious... Did the mechanic who replaced the lower control arms recommend an alignment at that time? If not, why? Is it a shop, or a guy working out if his garage?

after i brought it back to him when the first warnings appeared he told me it would need an alignment as the steering wheel was off quite a bit. he did not do alignments himself at his shop.
my alignment is set for monday at another shop.

I was guessing/hoping that the system would be more resilient, but perhaps not.
I have a 3, but in this circumstance they are similar enough. If you hit something hard enough to skew the steering wheel off center by more than a few degrees, it will throw a fit. I have many miles off road, bounced off many a rock and have not had an issue. I do have a certain amount of mechanical sympathy. I push the limits, but don’t beat on things.

100% it needs an alignment. I’ve done control arms twice myself on my 3 and it’s dropped to the bump stops both times on my way from home to the alignment shop.

I also just did front LCA’s and tie rods and right after the vehicle freaked out with faults. Drove fine up to about 15mph and would throw dsc, hdc, and suspension faults. My steering wheel was at about the 1 o’clock position. I had it aligned right away and zero issues since. As everyone else has said, an alignment will probably fix most of the faults. Good luck.
