I've said this before, but I think the LR4 (V8) has plenty of power. If you got this car to go fast, you got the wrong car. This is my relaxed family cruiser. On sport mode (which is too aggressive, IMO) the LR4 can move surprisingly quickly.
It accelerates smoothly and effortlessly in a luxurious way. I still rather would have had a turbo diesel, but so be it, I'll take the big V8. But I have zero motivation to try to make this car faster even if it were free just based on the weight, complexity, unreliability, and other issues that may be introduced.
I have proper sports or sporty cars to scratch the speed itch. And if I had to have one car to do it all, it sure as heck would not be an LR4.
We have a sport mode???? I'm not being facetious. If it is there, I genuinely don't remember it. I'll be heading out to the garage to look when I get home. I must be getting old, lol.
Wonder if it might help to somewhat mask the sub-optimal gearing from running tires 4-5 inches larger than the factory intended.
