Replaced rear struts and fixed a squaking rear hatch.
Rear shocks were completely shot at 145k. Took about 1 min for full rebound when compressed by hand

Installed an Xlifter suspension controller. Fairly simple other than the 172 tries it took me to install the EAS control module as level as possible. It’s a pretty tight space so getting everything lined up and enough finger pressure to engage the velcro without losing my placement was the hardest part.

Nothing spectacular: new air filters, MAF cleaning, and cabin air filter.

Also rewired the starter wires to the PSDB to see if some weird codes go away. Once I start her up and check the codes, I'll update my traxide thread.

Today I crossed my fingers and started my LR4 in negative 12 degrees Fahrenheit. So damn cold I could barely push the brake pedal down far enough to trigger the brake-switch required to engage the starter.

Today I sold our 2013 red HSE-LUX LR4. We had planned to sell the gray one upon the arrival of the Defender. However our red one was a far better fit (low miles & rear locker) for the buyer and it really held it's value. Plus we dumped another $2500 of repairs into the gray one last week so it rolls on in our family motor pool.

I've driven a LR3 in Alaska from Anchorage to Haines, going through parts of the NWT. We overnighted in Tok, and the morning we left there was at around minus 40. I think it threw every suspension error it had at us for the first few minutes after that start, but thankfully righted itself after it had a chance to warm itself up.

Yup. They get used to it. The V8 throws pretty good interior heat, still better with some cardboard over the grille.

Glad to hear that it went to a fellow enthusiast who will hopefully appreciate it and keep it rolling.

The "enthusiast" has a new Defender, so our red LR4 is for his wife. Her 2011 LR4 has 130K miles and she only wanted another LR4 to replace it. Our red LR4 had 33K miles, so it has many years to go.
