I don’t feel the need to start a new thread on this, but has anyone gotten any rub on their rear tires?

Obviously this happened under a lot of weight, just curious if anyone else has had this happen.

Saw this off roading today on my car. The red/orange dirt helps highlight the area.

Yep. I think I'm looking at front edge of passenger side wheel well.

Break out the heat gun, reroute heater pipes, cut body flange, then drive on.

Tomorrow was going to be transmission pan and fluid swap day, but this is how the new pan showed up:

The ridge in the gasket is cut through. I debated on rubbing some ultra black on it and installing anyway....but I've decided to just ask the seller for a replacement.

So now, tomorrow is fan clutch + thermostat day

Cooling fan was an emotional event. To remove, lefty loosey (towards passenger side), righty tighty (towards driver side) on the V6. At least Topix is making money off of all my weekly subscriptions.

I've been thinking of these rims myself. We’re you able to reuse the lug nuts or did you have to get a different spec?

Did you also buy the tool, or did you rent it somewhere?

I bought the ford 4.9L tool from AutoZone ($25). It came with a pulley holder, but it was garbage. I ended up having to rent a universal pulley holder (which bent). I also did the thermostat while the fan was off.

The bottom hose connector has a weird adapter piece that has to be removed and installed on the new thermostat. If I knew, I would have just bought a new piece instead of spending another 30 minutes slowly prying it off the old thermostat.

I had no idea how bad my fan actually was until I started the truck with the new fan installed. No ticking, and it actually turns on and off.

I just had a new fan delivered the other day. Thinking about tackling it soon, but just needed to source the tools.

I used the free rental tool from O’Reilly’s auto. Worked okay.

I also replaced my thermostat and could not get that adapter off the bottom for anything. Ended up having to buy the lower hose part with the new adapter. Even after I had the new part, I still tried to get that old T-stat adapter off just out of frustration - could not get it. It was completely glued on.

I had to get a different spec...AlphaEquipt were great and were able to provide a set as part of the deal. I did have to grind the calipers down just a bit though so it’s not exactly a factory fit. That said the install was pretty straightforward and the 265/65/18 fit perfect with no rubbing yet. Best of all the grey wheel matches the grey trim almost perfectly giving it a super clean look...this photo is not my best but it’s spot on IMO.
