The LR4 is remarkably quiet for it's shape. We regularly face a 80 km/h headwind heading into the Rockies during the winter. 100km/h +80 km/h headwind = 180 kmh (112 MPH). All is fine until the a pillar garnish just rips off the car. This happens at lower speeds on two lane highways in certain crosswinds. Carry duct tape.

I don't like the LR4 at over 90 - particularly the fuel economy. I think I may have touched 100 once, but I routinely do high 70's in the highway. It's not a car to drive fast. My M3 on other hand, I did 162mph on the Autobahn with my family in the car.

Agreed. Maybe its because most of my other cars have weighed half as much (former m3 owner here as well), but I don't want to see 90+ on anything other than a flat, straight road. "Ponderous" is the word that comes to mind when thinking of the LR4's handling.

I've been just under 100mph in mine. Felt solid and planted but that's as fast as I would take this one for grins. I, too, had a flappy A-pillar at speed just a few days after I got my first LR4. Kind of alarming and frankly embarrassing, haha.

I wouldn’t be surprised either. Sadly I didn’t go past 120 so I can’t answer that question. I can agree with you though that M3’s are great cars. I’m looking to rebuild an e92 from a salvage auction right now. What model is your M3.

We did European delivery on a 2018 Competition pkg with a 6MT in July 2018.

Did 130 or so in a LR3. Had my LR4 up to about 125 on a closed Mexican highway. And yes, the limiter can be removed in IIDTool.

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it. LR4 suspension is a bit floaty for sure. Hit a dip wrong, and away you go into the gigglies.

Most people who say they go fast and "it felt comfortable" are either lying about how fast they are going, or lying about it feeling comfortable.

I've driven the autobahn, Nurburgring and done some stupid $h!T on hwy 95 heading from vegas to Carson city in a brand new porsche I just bought. I can tell you that having driven all three of the aforementioned north of 150 mph, not once was I "comfortable" and I have had track day training and more track time than most.

Fact is that, on a public hwy, with unknowns like other cars, and the worst, animals (because, let's face it we do it out in the middle of nowhere), nobody is comfortable at these high speeds. The stuff whipping by in my porsche on 95 was crazy. On the autobahn in a Mercedes AMG, the Korean executive in the back seat was terrified, so much so that he refused to do hot laps with us on the Ring that day.

Not a lecture, just keeping it real. In my experience with high speed, it is anything but comfortable.

The fastest that I would want to take my LR4 is 100 mph on pavement, which I have done. Fastest on dirt or a dry lake bed, 75 mph, which I've also done.

In a car, 150 mph, but I don't think I'll do it again.

Little more than 100, mostly just to see if the suspension would squat like it allegedly does at high speeds. I didn't notice anything. It is very comfortable at 90. 121 seems like a good limiter for this vehicle. 200kph (125mph) on the autobahn is about as fast as the average driver should ever go anyway so 121 makes sense.
