Other than that, and the 4,500.00 HD half shafts I keep drooling over, at L8, i wouldn't change anything at this point.

Do you know anyone who has gotten the HD half shafts? Those are on my list too, but I don't need them yet. A bit expensive but the logical choice long term.

Edit: Having looked at Lucky8's product, I definitely was missing something....

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like the HD axles are available for $500 ? LR Part no. LR072071.

@hickersb That is the OEM axles that came with HD LR3s w/OEM lockers. The Lucky8 HD axles and CVs look to be double the diameter. I too **** for these.

Congrats Don. Hopefully it wont take too long to get it in. Did you sell the 4 yet?

I can't sell the 4 until the Defender is here, and probably not until I have the defender outfitted with the winch, lift, tires, racks, etc. But I'll post it for sale as soon as the Defender is ready to go. It's been an incredible truck and I was extremely meticulous about maintenance.

I pulled the trigger and submitted my order for a new Defender HSE today. Next month will be our LR4's final trip to the San Juan mountains.

Haha. Wife and I went in to a dealer looking for a car for her late last week. Looked at a Defender and then she left with a low mile used Range Rover.

Probably better for her use case, honestly.

I can only imagine trying to wheel the thing would be akin to wheeling a Suburban, but I had forgotten just how pleasant an unmodified Rover is on the pavement. With 500+HP it also feels quicker than any 5,000 pound brick has a right to be.

I know you have and it has held up well for you. I still owe you those pictures on FB and will post them up this week. Hopefully when the time comes it will stay in the club.

On a side note don't let that Gap tool go. When i installed the paddle shifters on my 4 I asked GAP if they had plans on having it available for the defender and they mentioned they were working on it.
