Are D1 and D2 external mirror assemblies interchangeable?

I just managed to snap off the passenger side (wing) external mirror on my D2 this afternoon.

Replacing it would cost $$$... but there are cheap D1 mirrors on eBay.

Has anyone tried fitting a D1 mirror onto a D2?

Are they interchangeable?

Not sure if they are interchangeable or not, but if you need a cheap one, contact "Will Tillery" at www.roverguy.com He always has a few rovers he is parting out.
