2012 LR4, 72,000 miles.
When I am driving, there is a squeaking noise coming from the steering column, both when I am turning the wheel at slow speeds, hitting small bumps at slow speed, or coming to a complete stop. It is not the normal clock spring whining. I can sometimes make it squeak while parked by turning the steering wheel back and forth. Ive had someone turn the steering wheel while chase down the noise, and you can clearly hear the squeaking under the hood coming from the steering gear, I think the squeaking is coming from where the steering shaft enters the steering rack.
Today we were looking at it again, and if you turn the steering wheel back and forth, I can feel a click if I hold onto the tie rods.
What do you guys think is going on here?
