My LR4 is in the shop having the front LCA's replaced. The service advisor told me that my rear steel (the hard lines) brake lines "don't look too good" and warned that a hard braking could blow the line.

Anyone ever had their hard rear brake lines replaced? Is it DIY-able?

Hmmm hard to know if dealer is blowing smoke. You do live in a salty part of the world.

Had to do the hard lines on the lr3 about 3 years ago. They were all rotted from NY roads

ill crawl under there once I get the car back. I’m hoping it was a CYA recommendation, they didn’t really share specifics on which lines were corroded, etc.

There was definitely some rust on the lines. I gently cleaned it off, and painted them... should hold me over until I can stomach another trip to the shop.
