What Coolant do you like using for the LR4 2015?

I know this V6 is particular. Thanks in advance. I see there may be an OEM option as well.

2012 V8. I previously would keep a bottle of Pentosin Pentofrost SF in the car to fill as needed. (mystery leaks).

Manual says. "Castrol SF antifreeze."
Shop manual says "Jaguar specification WSS M97B44-D" which is a ford spec.

---> Pentofrost SF (SF-G12+) coolant <----- its Pink & Clear, its WSS M97B44-D

Both are majority ethylene glycol formulas with a small percentage of "Organic Acid Technology" corrosion inhibitors. Mixing them should not cause any issues.

I've read some sketchy things about using dex-cool, even though it shares similar OAT chemistry.

As an example, Castrol SF aka Havoline XLC, which is that ford spec is:

Ethylene Glycol 80 - 96.99 % weight
Diethylene glycol 1 - 4.99 % weight
Potassium 2-ethylhexanoate 1 - 4.99 % weight https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/com...te#section=Top
Water remainder of weight

Prestone Dexcool Extended Life:

Ethylene Glycol 80-95 % weight
Diethylene Glycol 0-5 % weight
2-Ethyl Hexanoic Acid, Sodium Salt 1-5 % weight https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/com...id#section=Top
Neodecanoic Acid, Sodium Salt 1-5 % weight http://chem.sis.nlm.nih.gov/chemidplus/rn/31548-27-3
Water remainder of weight

It's interesting reading peoples' thoughts on Dex-Cool.

When I called my local LR dealer, they told me to just use Dex-Cool.

Dex Cool is A GM formulation. 5.0L has Ford bits. Just can't do it...

There are good SF choices out there (Pentosin).

There's already a thread on this for the V8, AFAIK the V6 is not any different:

https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/lr4-5-0-antifreeze.40796/

Copy/paste of my post on the other thread:

There are many, many horror stories about DexCool… Google if you want to read up on it.

However, the Land Rover antifreeze is supposed to be a similar formula - but I don't know if it's identical. Or if the newer versions of DexCool are "fixed" to eliminate the problems with the original stuff. Either way, the OE/dealer Land Rover stuff would be the safe route. Part number LRN2279, ~$25 from aftermarket vendors if you don't have a local dealer. I think my dealer charged about the same for 1 gallon.
