OK I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall. I've tried to take in all the information here and not ask stupid questions. I ended up going with an 255/60R18 8Jx18 AH2 ET57 inch wheel I purchased from a LR4 driver, I have a 2016 SCV6. It didn't fit.. it was rubbing on the caliper.
I'm going crazy.
I have learned that these wheel sizes should fit without issues
255/55R19 240.0kph (149.12mph)
111V 8Jx19 ET53 5x120
235/70R17 210.0kph (130.48mph)
111H 7Jx17 ET53 5x120
255/60R18 240.0kph (149.12mph)
112V 8Jx18 ET53 5x120
255/50ZR20 300.0kph (186.41mph)
109Y 8.5Jx20 ET47 5x120
I've been trying not to alter the body work but just wanted to fit 18's on a SCV6 2016. I have also been weary about buying online wheels that say they fit.
This SCV6 is turning into a nightmare for me. No Snorkel option, problems finding an 18 inch wheel to fit. 79 pages of reading I must have missed something
Things I have learned from this thread.
- IID tool is a must
- Rods are crap spend the $500 extra for the IID tool
- wheel well modifications may be required dependant on the tyres
- Duratec tyres do not wear well
- 265/60R18 are about the best tyre size for no modifications
- Wheel spacers and rods should not cause issues (LR mechanic quote)
- Compomotive wheels are great but fitted with 285/60R18 you may need to trim down on the horns
- PD1881 ET44 fit the V8 larger breaks that are the same size as the 3.0 SCV6
- 265/65R18 is what most people go with
- 8jx18 H2 Et53 don't fit the SCV6 - Personal experience
- 8jx19 H2 Et53 are the standard smallest wheel size
- Rods not required for 30.52, 30.05, 29.04, diameter
- Rods are required for 31.46, 31.56, 32.07 diameter or IID tool
- IID tool/rods is recommended for 285/60/R18
- IID tool/rods is a must for 265/65/R18, 275/65/R18
- IID tool/rods NOT required for 265/60/R18, 255/60/R18, 255/55/R18
- LR4 2010-2014 V8 and 14-2016 SCV6 Rotor Outer distentions 350.0mm / inner 222.mm
So I am just asking any other SCV6 owners which wheels/tyre combo are you using that you do not need to modify the vehicle before i spend another grand on wheels I don't need.
Anyone know why stock wheels will not fit a SCV6?
255/60R18 112V 8Jx18 ET53 5x120
What i will need is a offset of 45 most likely
