Maybe I'm crazy, but I truly don't mind dumping money into my truck.

Of course, my wife may give a different answer

So true...as of last week I now have a brand new alternator, battery, valve cover gasket, upper timing cover gasket and front crossover pipe. Now I have to drive it more to get my money's worth out of these repairs.

The "enthusiast" has a new Defender, so our red LR4 is for his wife. Her 2011 LR4 has 130K miles and she only wanted another LR4 to replace it. Our red LR4 had 33K miles, so it has many years to go.

A 33K mile LR4 with rear locker?! lol, I probably would have gotten on a plane for that...

With 2 weeks of below freezing cold temperatures (as far as -15 F) and 9 inches of snow, I decided to take the LR4 for a spin and "plow" some snow to see how it would do. Was worried about the "Beast" not starting at 0 F after sitting a week, outside, but no worries. Started after about 2 seconds, however it took the bloody thing about 20 minutes to get even slightly warm!

Then, instead of shoveling the drive for several days (it's a damn long driveway) like in the past, I just selected "snow mode" and went! Good 'ol Beast didn't even hardly care, not even going up another steep driveway at the other house! Love that thing! No shoveling this year!

Just back off a Road trip to Brian Head, UT with the family for some snow adventures.

Sub-zero temps at night/early morning - check
Occasional snow flurries - check

I’m still waiting for my prospeed rack so we had to jam everything into the back (snowboards, skus, sleds, luggage, food, etc). Amazing how much you can get in there.

This was my first cold weather run and I got to feel how sure footed these disco’s are for the first time - Zero concern taking s-curves uphill on a snow dusted embankment.

Exterior is caked in mud, road salt, snow, and dirt so getting a full detail at my local hand wash joint - apparently someone with an RRS had a similar idea.

Before photo was taken in Cedar City on the way back so the background isn’t as epic as I had intended.
