As Jim said, I ran bigger tires since 2005. After the first year or so, I had an opportunity to trade out my V6 front rotors with a set from a V8, so I did. No detectable change that I can recall. I drive a LOT, in LA traffic, and went off road more than most folks do. My brake wear was completely average, with pads due around 18k, and rotors around 35k I think, repeat the cycle at twice the mileage.

The increased diameter of the tires changes the final drive ratio, equivalent of puling a higher gear all of the time. My '07 w/Coopers gets a consistent 17.4 on country roads and in Charlotte traffic. Goes to almost 19 when I take a long freeway drive.
