I’m not an Aussie, but I do run 05’ Ram 3500 with a 5.9 Cummins diesel in it. I’ve been doing a LOT of research on e pumps, specifically Davies and Craig. They’re good pumps, and the benefits of the electric pump are pretty good. Given the work load these engines are gonna see, an e-pump would be more than enough to handle it.
As a comparison, I was looking at the 40gpm (EWP150) pump for my 5.9 block....did I mention I pull between 20-25K lbs with it? Plus the 8000lb truck, there’s a LOT of heat coming out of this thing.
Now, let me caveat that with the fact that I’ve never tested this particular design, but there have been several others running EWP’s on their trucks. All in all, I think a e-pump, if it can solve the problem. (I’m on my 3rd water pump and 2nd crossover) I’d be all in.
The big question is, what kind of ECM fooling are we going to have to come up with to make sure the computer is happy?
