If it's the seam which leaks, maybe the external wrap (fiber/expoxy) on a stock pipe might help?

This quote patch job sounds so BRITISH for some reason.

Wow, Porsche owners had to of spent $3,600 in repairs first to get reimbursed "up to $1,800".
Such a deal, I mean screw job. Add the 2014 cutoff date filing, I bet a lot of Porsche owners missed that filing date. Sad to say Porsche must of learned this business practice from LR.
Give Porsche credit having an aluminum replacement instead of another POS plastic one.
I bet it would of been cheaper the long run if Porsche installed aluminum pipes starting day one of production. Manufactures reputation is a deciding point these day purchasing vehicles which have become overly expensive. Real Porsche's use no water......~~=o&o>......

Remember... some parts are designed to fail before something more critical happens to parts they are fastened to.
Not saying thats the case here, but be mindful of how sturdy you build in this connection...

why not think out the box and just get rid of the pump and crossover??

Electric water pumps

I tell you what - if Craig has a kit for the LR4 - Ill do it -

Any owners from down under on the board??

Interesting thought. This would eliminate two of the most unreliable parts on the truck. Crossover and water pump. I would guess not enough LR4 5.0's in the world for them to have developed a kit though.

as far as a kit.... it appears they have a setup for the Ford Coyote motor which was the basis for the the V8 we had and the v6 - the LR V8 and V6 have the same pump - different crossover

My god would that change everything -

I’m not an Aussie, but I do run 05’ Ram 3500 with a 5.9 Cummins diesel in it. I’ve been doing a LOT of research on e pumps, specifically Davies and Craig. They’re good pumps, and the benefits of the electric pump are pretty good. Given the work load these engines are gonna see, an e-pump would be more than enough to handle it.

As a comparison, I was looking at the 40gpm (EWP150) pump for my 5.9 block....did I mention I pull between 20-25K lbs with it? Plus the 8000lb truck, there’s a LOT of heat coming out of this thing.

Now, let me caveat that with the fact that I’ve never tested this particular design, but there have been several others running EWP’s on their trucks. All in all, I think a e-pump, if it can solve the problem. (I’m on my 3rd water pump and 2nd crossover) I’d be all in.

The big question is, what kind of ECM fooling are we going to have to come up with to make sure the computer is happy?
